031666 MINUTES City Commis~on, Sanford, Florida. . .March. 16 at 12: 01 P. M. 19 66 i99 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in a special session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:01 o'clock P. M. on March 16, 1966. Present: Commissioner A. L. Wilson, Mayor " J.B. Baker " Earl Higginbotham " M.L. Raborn, Jr. " W. Vincent Roberts City Attorney Wm C. Hutchison, Jr. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. L. Whelchel Absent: Police Chief A. S. Williams Commissioner Higginbotham moved to waive the requirement of 24 hours written notice, and to call the meeting to order. Seconded by Commissioner ROberts and carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission. The City Attorney next reviewed the proposed leases between the City of Sanford, Florida, and Monroe Motels, Inc., the latter represented by C. E. Merrill, Jr., and A. J. Thomas, Jr., and Monroe Marina, Inc. represented by Harold Slama, pointing out certain minor changes made in the final draft now presented for approval. Commissioner Higginbotham then moved that the final drafts of the leases as presented by the City Attorney be approved~ and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the leases for.the Cityt seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried. Commissioner Higginbo~ham next moved to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the constuuction contract with the low biddert Houdaille-Duval-Wright Company of Jacksonville, after the modifications as per previously discussed at the regular meeting of March 14, 1966, have been made, and as per approval of the City Attorney and City Managers seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission. On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham~ seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried~ the adjourned meeting set for March 18, 1966, was adjourned as of this date.
