The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in a special session at
the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 5:00 o'clock P. M. on November 17, 1966.
Present: Commissioner A. L. Wilson, Mayor " J.B. Baker

City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. L. Whelchel
Absent: Police Chief A. S. Williams
Commissioner Higginbotham moved to waive the requirement of 24 hours written notice,
and to call the meeting or order. Seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried by the unani-
mous vote of the Commission.
Such special meeting held for the purpose of a discussion regarding a request from
the Mutual Concert Association of Seminole County to hold their a~uual "ChampagneBall" in
the Civic Center Auditorium on December 10, 1966, and also permission to allow the group the
use of alcoholic beverages on the premises. Their urgency for use of the building being due
to an immediate decision by their organization relative to booking a "name band" to play for
the dance on that particular date.
After discussion and consideration, Commissioner Higginbotham mOved to notify the
Mutual Concert Association that the City is agreeable to their organization using the Civic
Center as requested December 10, 1966, at a cost of $150.00. Seconded by Commissioner Baker
and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Wilson.
There being no further business, Commissioner Roberts moved that~the~meeting be
adjourned, seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried.
