The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at
the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:30 A. M. on April 14, 1967.
Present: Commissioner J. B. Baker, Mayor

" M.L. Raborn, Jr.
" W. Vincent Roberts
" A.L. Wilson
City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr.
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. L. Whelchel
Absent: Police Chief Ben E. Butler
Commissioner Roberts moved to waive the requirement of 24 hours written notice,
and to call the meeting into special session. Seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and
carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
After a thorough investigation and study of the Motel Lease Agreement between
Monroe Motels, Inc., and the City of Sanford, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to direct
the City Attorney to make the changes as discussed and approved; and to authorize the
Mayor and City Clerk to sign same. Seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried.
After discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved that upon completion of the
Holiday Inn, Monroe Motel, Inc., the City Commission will authorize the City Attorney to
amend the existing beverage ordinance to permit alcoholic beverages sales in said motel
on Sundays beginning at ll:00 A. M. Seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried over the
dissenting votes of Commissioner Baker and Commissioner Wilson.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
