The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in a special session in
the City of Sanford, Florida, at lO:O0 o'clock A. M. on April 20, 1967.
Present: Commissioner J. B. Baker, Mayor

City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr.
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. L. Whelchel
Absent: Police Chief Ben E. Butler
Commissioner Roberts moved to waive the requirement of 24 hours written notice,
and to call the meeting to order. Seconded by Commissioner Raborn hy the unanimous vote of
the Commission.
The City Attorney then discussed the various agreements that would be necessary
pertaining to the Lakefront Development Project-Motel Complex.
After consideration and discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to authorize
the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the following agreements:
1. LEASE MODIFICATION: Modifying the original lease dated April l~, 1967
2. INDEMNITY AGREEMENT: Indemnifying Lawyers Title Insurance for certain losses.
3. MORTGAGE AGREEMENT: Mortgage held by Gulf Life Insurance would not be
escalated upon default.
Seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried.
The Chairman then advised the Commission that a meeting to be held at Washington,
D. C. with officials had been arranged to discuss the possibility of the City becoming a
Demonstration City, and the presence of the Mayor was requested. Commissioner Wilson moved
to authorize the Mayor to take this trip to Washington, D. C., and to expend the necessary
travel funds. Seoonded by Commissioner Roberts and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
