Orlando The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, acting as a Board of Equali- zation, met in a special adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. Butler The gpecial adjourned Board of Equalization meeting of September ll, 1967, and September 15, 1967, to give consideration to real estate revaluations, was called to order by the Chairman. The Commission then proceeded to review each and every complaint filed with the Tax Assessor, and those who attended the adjourned meeting of September ll, 1967. Motion died for lack of second. After discussion, Commissioner Raborn moved that the property valuations as listed on the 1967 Tax Roll and reviewed and any corrections or changes noted thereon by the Tax Assessor be accepted and so authorized. Seconded ~ Commissioner Higginbotham and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Roberts. On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried. the Commission then adjourned as the Tax Equalization Board. Commissioner Higginbotham moved to call the Commission into Special Session, waivin the required 24 hours written notice, seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried by the u~animous vote of the Commission. Consideration was next given to the 1967-68 Budget as prepared by t~e City Manager, and after discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to accept the budget with provisions to be made for drapes at the Civic Center, sidewalks at the Lakefront Development Project from Park to Palmetto Avenue, and to retain the present millage at 16 mills, Debt Service 5 and General Government ll mills. Seconded by Commissioner Roberts and failed to carry over the opposing votes of CommissionerS;R~born, Wilson and Baker. After further discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to accept the budget as prepared by the City Manager, with the following changes: provisions for drapes at the Civic Center be made from cuts of $900.00 from other accounts of Recreation Budget; place in the budget $20,000.00 for future neighborhood recreation center, with a maximum placed on this construction of $100,000.00, to be paid in five years, and all efforts be made for federal participation in this project; lower debt service millage to ~, adding ~ mill to General Government for a total of ll~ mills. Seconded by Commissioner Roberts and carried over the dissenting votes ~ Commissioners Raborn and Baker. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
