Orlando, Fla .... - , The City Commission 02 the City o£ Sanford, Florida, met in Special Meeting at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'Clock NOon, December 6, 1967, for the purpose of canvassing the Election Returns of the Humi¢±pal Election, held on December 5, 196' Present: Commissioner J. B. Baker, Hayor " Earl Higginbotham " H.L. Raborn, Jr. " W. Vincent Roberts " A.L. Wilson City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. L. Whelchel Absent: Police Chief Ben E. Butler The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. The Commission then proceeded to canvas~ the returns of the Municipal Election, held December 5, 1967, for the purpose of electing one City Commissioner for the term of three years, commencing on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January, 1968, said returns as made by!~the Clerks and Inspectors as follows: VOTING TABULATION FOR CITY COMMISSION - GROUP I Lee P. Moore Samuel Wright, Jr. Irregular or Mutilated Machine Write-in Absentee Absentee Votes Votes ~otes Ballots 1,593 - 11 594 - i TOTAL 2,187 - 12 2 Total 1,604 595 2,199 Commissioner Wilson then moved that the returns of the Clerks and Inspectors of the Municipal G~neral Election, held December 5, 1967, be accepted and the absentee ballots be approved as recorded. Seoonded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried unanimously. Thereupon, Lee P. Moore, Group I, was certified as the duly elected City Commis- sioner of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the three year term, commencing with the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January, 1968. After discussion, Commissi6ner Higginbotham moved that the ten Election Clerks and Inspectors working in the Municipal General Election on December 5, 1967, be paid at the hourly rate of $1.40.
