122368MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida December 2~ at 8:00 P. M. 19 68 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M.. on December 23, 1968. Present: Commissioner W. Vincent Roberts, Mayor " Earl Higginbotham " Lee P. Moore " A.L. Wilson City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. L. Whelchel Police Chief Ben E. Butler Absent: Commissioner M. L. Raborn, Jr. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. The first item of business was consideration of a letter from the Municipal Judge requesting the Commission to reopen the case of Thallas Jerome Griffen, Case No. 85118, on the charge of Failure to Answer a Summons, as Griffin was in custody of the U. S. Marshal, Orlando Florida, from October 31 to November 7, 1968, as a federal juvenile parole violater, when the case was called for court and bond estreated. On motion of Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried, said request was approved. Mary W. Smith, owner of property condemned on October 21, 1968, under Group 15, as follows: Report No. 68-255 Report No. 68-256 Report No. 68-257 Report No. 68-258 lO11 Railroad Avenue lO13 Railroad Avenue 810 West llth Street 808 West llth Street appeared to request a time extension, and on motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Com- missioner Moore and carried, a ninety day extension was granted to the date of April 21, 1969. to allow the completion of the repair work on the structures. Commissioner Wilson next introduced Ordinance No. 958, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMEND1-NG ORDINANCE NUMBER 771 OF SAID CITY, AS AMENDED, SAID ORDINANCE BEING A ZON1-NG PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, SAID AMENDMENT PLACING CERTAIN TERRITORY IN C-1 (NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL) DIS- TRICT, AND IN R-6 (MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING) DISTRICT. On motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Moore and carr~ied, Ordinance No. 958 was placed on its first reading and read in full. Ordinance No. 957, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NUNBER 771 OF SAID CITY, AS AMENDED, SAID ORDINANCE BEING A ZONING PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, SAID AMENDMENT PLACING CERTAIN TERRITORY IN C-1 (NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL) DIS- TRICT, AND IN R-lA (SINGLE FAMILY D.WELL- ING) DISTRICT. placed on its first reading and read in full at the meeting of December 10, 1968, was next placed on its second reading. After being read in full, Commissioner Moore moved on its passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Wilson and carried. Thereupon, the Chairman announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, had passed and adopted said Ordinance No. 957, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 771 OF SAID CITY, AS AMENDED, SAID ORDINANCE BEING A ZONING PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, SAID AMENDMENT PLAC lNG CERTAIN TERRITORY IN C-1 (NEIGMBORMOOD MINUTES : City Commission, Sanford, Florida .Deoember 25 at '8 P.M. .19 68 DOTlt'I~OW OPFI(~E SUPPLY flOMPANY " " ' ' Consideration was next given to bids submitted as follows, for thefurnishing of gasoline and diesel fuel for City vehicles for the year 1969, as publicly~opened in the City Hall at 2:50 P. M., December 20, 1968, and advertised in the Sanford Herald on December 5, 1968. A request by Frito Lay Company, Orlando,'for the use of the Municipal Civic Center on Saturday, December 28, 1968, for a Christmas Party with alcoholic beverage privileges was next considered, and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried, the request was approved at the standard rental fee of $250.00.
