The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M.. on December 23, 1968.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The first item of business was consideration of a letter from the Municipal Judge
requesting the Commission to reopen the case of Thallas Jerome Griffen, Case No. 85118, on the
charge of Failure to Answer a Summons, as Griffin was in custody of the U. S. Marshal, Orlando
Florida, from October 31 to November 7, 1968, as a federal juvenile parole violater, when the
case was called for court and bond estreated. On motion of Commissioner Moore, seconded by
Commissioner Higginbotham and carried, said request was approved.
Mary W. Smith, owner of property condemned on October 21, 1968, under Group 15,
as follows:

appeared to request a time extension, and on motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Com-
missioner Moore and carried, a ninety day extension was granted to the date of April 21, 1969.
to allow the completion of the repair work on the structures.
Commissioner Wilson next introduced Ordinance No. 958, entitled:

On motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Moore and carr~ied, Ordinance No.
958 was placed on its first reading and read in full.

placed on its first reading and read in full at the meeting of December 10, 1968, was next
placed on its second reading.
After being read in full, Commissioner Moore moved on its passage and adoption.
Seconded by Commissioner Wilson and carried.
Thereupon, the Chairman announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford,
Florida, had passed and adopted said Ordinance No. 957, entitled:

Consideration was next given to bids submitted as follows, for thefurnishing of
gasoline and diesel fuel for City vehicles for the year 1969, as publicly~opened in the City
Hall at 2:50 P. M., December 20, 1968, and advertised in the Sanford Herald on December 5,
1968.

After consideration and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commis-
sioner Moore and carried, low bid was awarded, as follows:

On motion of Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Wilson and carried,
minutes of December 6, 1968, were approved.
A request by Frito Lay Company, Orlando,'for the use of the Municipal Civic Center
on Saturday, December 28, 1968, for a Christmas Party with alcoholic beverage privileges was
next considered, and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Moore
and carried, the request was approved at the standard rental fee of $250.00.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
