M. !9 69 DOTttl~,OW OFFICE .~UF-~LY COMPANY The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clocki~P. M. on August 26, 1969. Present: Commissioner Lee P. Moore, Mayor " James H. Crapps " Earl Higginbotham " W. Vincent Roberts " A.L. Wilson City ~ttorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: Police Chief Ben E. Butler The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. Further consideration was given to a proposed Utility Budget for 1969-70 reflecting an anticipated deficit of $98,8~9.00. The City Manager submitted a Utility rate review projection tabulated as Rate No. 1 and Rate No. 2. ~ Rate No. 1. Increasing this basic rate by 20%. (b) Cutting off the rate schedule at lO0~000 gallons so that all users over this quantity will be at 24¢/1,000 gallons. (c) All outside water users would be at a rate of double the inside rate instead of the 50% now being charged. (d) Increasing the basic sewer rate by 20%. (e) Increasing the basic sewer rate over lO,O00 gallons and to other than single family residences from 68%-to 81%. (f)Increasing the sewer rate outside the city limits from the present 30% surcharge to double the inside rate. Rate No. 2 is similar to above except that (a) and (d) was by 25% and (f) was to 85%. After considerable discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to authorize the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance for adoption effective October l, 1969, of Rate tabu- lation No. i and in 1970-71 fiscal year to earmark anticipated Utility fund surplus of $90,000.00 to the Renewal and Replacement Fund. Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Roberts. After consideration and on motion of Commissioner Roberts, seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried, the City Attorney was authorized to prepare an ordinance to adopt a proposed pay schedule effective October l, 1969. After discussion and motion of Commissioner Crapps, seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried, General Fund revenue rates were revised effective October l, 1969, as follows: (a) (c) Civic Center rental schedule. Nonresident Library cards $6.00. Nonresident Recreation cards: $10.00 individual or $15.00 per family. Building Permit schedule as submitted. Stadium use schedule as submitted. Care of Cemetery lots $18.00 annually. On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried the City Attorney was authorized to prepare an ordinance for adoption of the Utility and General Fund Budgets as amended. M. 19 69 117 DO--OW OFFICE SUPPLY COMPANY Letter next submitted from Alton and Virginia Bowers requesting vacating and abandoning of portions of Franklin Street, Lilly Court and part of a certain north-south alley abutting Gardenia Subdivision, and after discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to deny the request because at some future date the property may be acquired by other parties and it being not a good policy to vacate ingress to such a large number of lots.
