011882-Special Session MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida January 18 at i1:30 A.M. 19. 82 MI~TATE T.~GAI. ~IJPPI,Y COMPANY The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session in the City Manager's Conference Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 11:30 A.M on Januar'y 18, 1982. Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore _ Commissioner Milton E. Smith ,~' Commissioner Edward A. "Ned" Yancey Commissioner David T. Farr - ' Commissioner Eddie O. Keith City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: City Attorney William L. Colbert The-meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Who announced that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the lease agreement dated May 14, 1979, with Wes Rinker, d/b/a Wes Rinker Florida Baseball School, for use of the Sanford Municipal Stadium. The City Manager reported that he and Mr. Rinker had just finished discussing the problem of the title to the lights at the stadium, and recommended that the present lease be re-written for six (6) years, with options to renew for at least two (2) five (5) year periods, including provisions for Wes Rinker Florida Baseball School to pay the City the sum of $9,600.00 per year for five (5) or five and one-half (5~) years, for installment pay- ments on the new lights at the stadium, with the City to buy the lights outright and have them installed by Musco Sports-Lighting, Inc. After discussion, Commissioner Fart moved to authorize the emergency purchase, from the General Fund Surplus, in amount of up to $33,000.00, the lighting for the stadium from ~ Musco Sports-Lighting, Inc., and to authorize the City Manager to re-draft the lease with Wes Rinker Florida Baseball School, stipulating that Wes Rinker Florida Baseball School will pay the city $9,600.00 per year .for the next five (5) years, on or before the 25th of March of each year, for.the lighting, and to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the new lease.
