The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session in the
City Manager's Conference Room, in the City Hall, in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 10:00
o'clock A. M. on January 27, 1984.
Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner Edward A. Yancey
Commissioner David T. Farr
Commissioner Edwin O. Keith
City Attorney William L. Colbert
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: Commissioner Milton E. Smith
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Commissioner Farr moved to remove from table, consideration of a grant from the
Florida Department of Environmental Regulation in the amount of $40,000.00, tabled at the
meeting of January 23, 1984. Seconded by Commissioner Keith and carried.
The City Manager reported that Dr. Charles Reed, Deputy Chief of Staff of the
Governor's Office, had called to inform the City that there were no other funds available
and to urge the City to accept them.
Commissioner Keith moved to authorize the City Manager to execute the proper
agreement to accept the fiscal assistance in amount of $40,000.00. Seconded by Commissioner
Yancey and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Farr.
The City Manager submitted a report regarding the Otto McDaniel property at 1018
West First Street, reflecting that the bottom of the area dug out by Mr. McDaniel is lower
than the bottom of the creek into which it is intended to drain. Commissioner Yancey moved
to authorize the City Manager to direct a letter to Mr. McDaniel outlining that the drainage
is on private property and to enclose a copy of the topographical map. Seconded by
Commissioner Keith and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
