060385-Workshop SessionMINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida 069 June 3 at '4::::00· P, :.M. 19 85 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Workshop Session in the City Manager's Conference Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 4:00 o'clock P. M. on June 3, 1985. Present: Mayor-Commissioner Bettye D. Smith Commissioner John Y. Mercer Commissioner Milton E. Smith Commissioner David T. Farr Commissioner Bob Thomas City Manager Frank A. Faison City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: City Attorney William L. Colbert The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. Members of the Scenic Improvement Board were present as follows: Sara Jacobsen, Chairperson Judy Wimbish Ruth Lee Juanny Mercer Lurlene Sweeting Jim Jernigan Ms. Jacobsen presented the board's report titled "Master Plan for Visual Improvements and The Master Plan Expanded" and memorandum dated June 3, 1985. Ms. Jacobsen reviewed each section of the report. The Commission accepted the report and commended the Board for the thoroughness and extent of coverage embodied in the plan. The Commission requested the City Manager and Staff work with the Scenic Improvement Board to submit to the Commission on June 24 a detailed itemization of costs and time required for the initial projects, and further, to submit suggestions for additional committees and members to work with this board. Ms. Mary Tumin, 306 Loch Low Drive, appeared to voice concern for the children in 'the area of a barbed wire fence next to the Hidden Lake Recreation development, and submitted a copy of the section of the Seminole County ordinance prohibiting same. The City Attorney was authorized 'to research same and prepare an ordinance for review by the Commission. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. ATTEST: js
