060585-Workshop SessionMINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida June 5 at 2:00 P. M. 19 85 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Workshop Session in the City Manager's Conference Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 2:00 o'clock P. M. on June 5, 1985. Present: follows: Mayor-Commissioner Bettye D. Smith Commissioner John Y. Mercer Commissioner Milton E. Smith Commissioner Bob Thomas City Attorney William L. Colbert City Manager Frank A. Faison City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: Commissioner David T. Farr The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. Present were members and officials from the School Board of Seminole County as Nancy Warren, Chairman Jean Bryant, Vice Chairman William Kroll, Member Pat Telson, Member Joe Williams,Jr., Member Robert Hughes, Superintendent Benny Arnold, Chairman, Capital Outlay and Housing Committee Carey Farrell Karen Coleman Owen McCarron Mr. Arnold submitted a copy of a report dated May 22, 1985 of all of the school board properties within the City and a five year recommendation for capital outlay and housing costs for facilities in the entire county. Mr. Arnold and the City Manager were authorized to develop plans and costs for items as follows: 1. Pipe and labor for drainage ditch dividing the Goldsboro Elementary Property. 2. Repaying the brick street (Seventh Street) in front of the Student Museum between Myrtle Avenue and Elm Avenue. 3. Exchange of Memorial Stadium for School Board Property. 4. Pipe and labor for drainage ditch at Hamilton Elementary School. 5. Removal of tree stumps at Hamilton Elementary School. Mr. Farrell explained the use of state gas tax refunded to the School Board and offered cooperation in the area of construction or reconstruction of streets or correction of safety for walking students for items located off the school property and serving the school's interest, and was requested to develop plans with the City Manager. Karen Coleman expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the City for use of the Civic Center for school activities. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
