Further consideration next given to the bids submitted at regular meeting of August for furnishing labor and materials in the construction of sanitary sewers to service the area between Rosalia Drive and 20th Street and Locust Avenue and Mellonvllle Avenue, for which the lowest bid was Langston Construction Company in amount of $27,733.10. Fred H. Williams, Engineer, then submitted the plans for further study of the design of the proposed sanitary sewerage system in that area and the proposal for future extension into the area south of 20th Street. He then advised that because of the contour of the land, it would be more economical to service the area between 24th Street and Geneva Avenue, and Oviedo Railroad and east of Mellonvllle Avenue by installing a lift station and pump the sewage to the disposal plant at the airport. The Commission then authorized Engineer Williams to proceed with the plans for installing sanitary sewers and a lift station for servicing the aforesaid area. After further study of the plans for installing sewers in the area between Rosalia Drive and 20th Street and Locust Avenue and Mellonville Avenue, for which the bids were submitted, it was felt that the need for sewers in t~is area is not critical at the present time because of the fact that it has already been almost completely developed with new dwellings with septic tanks, and on motion of Commissioner Chase, seconded by Commissioner Krlder and carried, the Commission rejected all bids received. Consideration next given to request of Sanford Housing Aut~ority for the City to request the County to rescind the dedication for recreation purposes of five parcels of property needed by the Authority as part of the site for the housing project. Also, for the City to purchase said property from the County at the sale price of $1,O05.O0, and re-sell it to the Authority at a price to be agreed upon. Tier 16; Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and of Block lC, Tier 19, Seminole Park. Said property being described as Lot l, Block lC, l0 Block lC, Tier l~; and Lots l, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9 Thereupon Commissioner Stemper moved that the City adopt the necessary resolution re- questing the County to rescind the dedication of the aforesaid property, and that the City purchase it from the County at price of $1,005.00 for the purpose of re-selling it to the Sanford Housing ~utnority for the project site. Seconded by Commissioner Chase and carried. On motion of Commissioner Dyson, seconded by Commissioner Stemper and carried, Donald Young, Journeyman electrician, was next appointed as a member of the Board of Electrical Examiners to fill the unexpired term of F. D. Jobe, deceased. Request next received from L. P. AY 5 H-~o~O - - Request next received from C. C. Priest for the installation of a:,street light at intersection of Sanford Avenue and 26th Street and same was taken under advisement. Consideration next given to rescinding Resolution No. 7?2, appropriating funds received from sale of real estate during current fiscal year to the Department of Debt Service, in order to place the funds back in the Public Project Fund for public improvements. Thereupon after considerable discussion, Commissioner Krider moved t~at a Resolution be drafted rescinding Resolution No. 7?2, in order that funds received from sale of real estate may be used for proposed capital improvements. ~econded by Commissioner Dyson and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Chase. The City Manager was next directed to obtain estimate on cost of repairing the Ship Service Building at the Airport. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Mayor
