Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Minutes of adjourned meeting of October 30, soeclal meeting
meeting of November 13. 1950, approved.
The members of the Retail Florist Association with Mr. J. R.
of November 8, and regular
Stewart as spokesman,
next appeared with reference to flowers and potted plants being stolen from graves at the
cemetery immediately after funerals, and requested the Commission to take action to apprehend
the thief; advising that they were offering a reward of $100.00 for Information leading to
the arrest and conviction of the person involved in the theft. They slap recom-.ended that the
cemetery be enclosed with fence with only one entrance gate, to be closed at night, and not
allow anyone to remove anything from the cemetery without permission of the caretaker.
The City Nanager then advised that the City was placing watchmen at the cemetery after
each funeral, who remained on duty all night, but that they had been unable to apprehend the
thief. Also, that the entrance ways were being closed with chains at night.
After considerable discussion, the Commission expressed thelr appreciation to the Com-
mittee for their interest and concern in the matter, and assured them that the City would con-
tinue to exert every effort to stop the trouble.

Fish Estate w!th reference to t~e endowment for s hosoltsl for Sanford. He advl. sed that the
Trustees had selected the City owned property located at southwest corner of First Street and
Mellonville Avenue for the hospital site and were offering to purchase it at a reasonable price,
and would like immediate action by the City because plans were already completed for the De-
Land hospital and they would llke to call for bids for constructing both hospitals at same
time in order to take advantage of any saving~ in costs that may be affected by constructing
both simultaneously. The said property described as Lots 1 to 6, and 8 to 10 of Block. 2,
