The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. PI- on September'9, 1963. Present: Commissioner Thomas S. McDonald, Piayor " Joe B. Baker " J, H. Crapps " M.L. Raborn, Jr. City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr'. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Deputy Clerk Rosa M. Rosa M. Rotundo Police Captain Arnold S. Williams Absent: Commissioner A. L. Wilson The meeting was called tO order by the Chairman. Commissioner Baker moved that the regular meeting of the Commission be temporarily adjourned for the Commission to sit as a Tax Equalization Board and to call the Tax Equali- zation Board into session. Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried. The Commission then proceeded to sit as a Tax Equalization Board to receiVe any comPlaints or objections on the 1963 Tax Roll, as prepared by the Tax Assessor and submitted at th'is time. There being no objections registered and on motion of Commissioner Crapps, seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried, the Commission then approved the 1963 Tax Roll and adjourned as the TaxEqualization Bo~d. Commissioner Baker moved to call the adjourned regular meeting back into session. Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried. The first order of business being a Public Hearing to consider vacating, closing and abandoning as alley in accordance with the following notice published in the Sanford Herald on August 23, 1963. NOTICE OF PROCEEDING FOR VACATING, CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: You will take notice that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the 9th day of September, 1963, at the City Commissioners' Room at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, will consider and. determine w~ether or not the City will close, vacate and abandon any right of the City and the public in and to an alley hereinafter described, to-wit: That certain l# foot alley running from Washington Street south 129 feet, thence west to Glenway Drive, and abutting Lot 5 on the east and LotS 2, 3, 4 and 5 on the south, all in Cottage Hill ~ubdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 87, Seminole County Records. Persons. interested may appear and be heard at the time and place above specified. CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA H. N. TAMM, JR. CITY CLERK The Chairman then announced that the Commission would be glad to hear from anyone in favor of, or against closing, vacating and abandoning the alley as described in the foregoing notice. Commissioner Baker moved to table action on the aforesaid request until further Seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner notice. McDonald. Request next' submitted by First Research Corporation for payment of the balance of $30.04 on their statement in the amount of $380.04 submitted at regular meeting of August 26~ 1963~ and payment authorized in the amount of $350.00.
