112963-Special Called Session MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, November 29 at 2 P. M. 493 The City Commission of the City of Sanford met in special called session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 2:00 o'clock P. M. on November 29, 1963. Present: Commissioner Thomas S. McDonald, Mayor " Joe B. Baker " J.H. Crapps " M.L. Raborn~ Jr. A.L. Wilson City Manager W. E. Knowles Deputy Clerk Rosa M. Rotundo Absent: City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr. City Clerk H, N. Tamm, Jr. Police Chief R. G. Williams Commissioner Wilson moved to waive the requirement of a 24 hour written notice and to call the meeting into special session to consider commitments to the State Board of Controls for providing water and sewer, fire fighting, and refuse collection services. Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried by the following vote of the Commission: Commissioner McDonald Yea " Baker " " Crapp s " " Raborn " " Wi I s o n " Letters next presented from W. Scott Burns, Manager, Florida Power & Light Company, A. H. Gaede, President, Sanford Gas Company, and R. F. Shedden, Manager, Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company, setting forth each company's ability to furnish the required utilities at the Lake Ada site for the proposed State University. Consideration next given to the availability of the water and sewer facilities of City of Sanford to said site. After discussion, Commissioner Raborn moved to authorize a commitment from the City of Sanford to the State Board of Controls to provide to the proposed University site, water and sewer facilities, and fur'ther to provide fire fighting services by the municipal fire department and refuse collection through services of the refuse department, and further to forward copies of all of the aforesaid commitments to the State Board of Controls. Seconded by Commissioner Baker and carried unanimously. Gommissioner Baker moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Wilson and carried. lm MAYOR
