The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work
Session on Monday, September 24, 2012, at 4:00 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room,
Second Floor, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.

1. Board interviews. [Commission Memo 12 -150]
Prior to today's Work Session, City Clerk Dougherty provided the
Commission with a copy of a board application for Larry D. Blair.
The Commission interviewed the following board applicants: Hank
Dieckhaus, Robert Kinney, Benny Crosby, Cheryl Deming, Lon Howell, John
Dovydaitis, Roland Jernigan, Andre Klass, Geoffrey Longstaff, Larry Blair, and Patrick
Reid - Reimer. The Commission concurred to continue the annual interview of applicants
at a meeting to be determined. Discussion of applicants and appointment of board
members will be scheduled for the October 8, 2012 Regular Meeting.
2. SunRail update.
• Mary Moskowitz, Planner with the Planning and Development Services
Department, gave a powerpoint presentation regarding SunRail.

reviewed this item.

• Senior Project Manager Andrew Thomas briefly reviewed this item.
4. Briefing items.
Mr. Bonaparte said that the Police Department reorganization will be
presented to the Commission at a future Work Session. He announced that Lisa Mosca was
selected as the PIO. Recruitment and hiring of the Public Safety PIO is still in process. He
advised that a contact telephone number is now posted on the door of City Hall for anyone
who needs assistance on Fridays; any caller will be assisted by a live person. The 135
birthday celebration is this Saturday. The Police Department will be receiving
reaccreditation this week in Sarasota and he will be out of the office Wednesday afternoon
and Thursday to attend.
