Williams Community Resource Center. He invited everyone to attend Sanford's 135 birthday celebration at Fort Mellon Park this Saturday from 1 — 5 PM. 13) CITIZEN PARTICIPATION. Vernon Johnson said that his friend has owned Sanford Mower Shop on S. Park Drive for more than forty years and has been told that he is in violation of code and that zoning requirements do not allow the store to have merchandise placed outside. 1110 Community Improvement Director Darrel Presley said that he has been in contact with the owner and is working with the Planning Department and there is a plan worked out that is going to require some landscaping; there are certain requirements that have to be met. Marlo Thompson and Rosemary Gregory briefly spoke regarding the Trayvon Martin memorial and requested an appointment with the City Manager. Cheryl Deming said that she attended last month's Mayor/Manager coffee and has yet to receive an answer about code enforcement issues on First Street in the area just west of Magnolia Square; a business has had brown paper on the windows for five years and another business has corrugated ceiling blocking the windows and is apparently being used for storage. Mr. Presley said that the Bishop building has had multiple code • violations and some have been rectified. Vice Mayor Mahany congratulated Mr. Bonaparte for his one year anniversary as the City Manager. Commissioner Williams said that she and Commissioner M and about fifty citizens from the City of Sanford went on a bus tour to the Orlando Housing Authority last Wednesday. As a result of redistricting, she is now the City Commissioner • for Georgetown and Valencia Court. Last Thursday she had a District 2 community meeting on the East side which was attended by about fifty people. This Thursday she will have a district meeting on the West side of town from 6:30 — 8:30 PM at the Westside Recreation Center. She reiterated that the Mayor and City Manager will have a coffee and conversation meeting at the resource center on Historic Goldsboro Boulevard. Mr. Bonaparte said that there was a meeting with the Sanford Housing Authority where he had the opportunity to speak with Vivian Bryant, Orlando Housing Authority Director, who shared that she has been notified by HUD that HUD will be paying the Wells Fargo loan; it should be paid by the end of this week. Commissioner Williams said that the Mayor and City Manager had a major role in that; they went to Washington, DC to meet with officials. Mayor Triplett said that the City is now on pace to move to the next step of demolition. Mayor Triplett said that on Thursday, SunTrust will have its rand opening from 5:30 — 7 PM. This Thursday the Sanford Police Department will receive its reaccreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation in Sarasota; he, the City Manager, and members of the Police Department will attend.
