MINUTES 383 City Commission, Sanford, Florida Auqust 8, 1988 The City Engineer reported the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval. Commissioner Eckstein moved to table said rezoning to the meeting of August 22, to allow both parties to convene and attempt to reach an understanding of the development of the property. Jim Jernigan, Director of Recreation and Parks appeared to support the request. Mr. Jernigan reported this is a seven (7) acre plot of land with the City providing cash, land and in-kind services totalling $240,000 with a grant from the State of Florida in the amount of $120,000, for a total project cost of $360,000. The funds will be used for the development of a neighborhood park with handball courts, basketball courts, trails, and other activities. SECTION THREE: That the City of Sanford is hereby requesting funds totaling $120,000.00 from the Florida Recreation Department Assistance Program.
