Present:
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Special Session in the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 Noon on
Mayor-Commissioner Bettye D. Smith
Commissioner John Y. Mercer
Commissioner Whitey Eckstein
Commissioner A. A. McClanahan
Commissioner Robert B. Thomas
City Attorney William L. Colbert
City Manager Frank A. Faison
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
The Chairman called the meeting into session to canvass the returns of the
Municipal Run-off General Election held on December 20, 1988, for the purpose of electing
one Commissioner.
The Certificate of Results for the Run-off General Election held on December 20,
1988 was received by the City Clerk and the City Commission and recorded as follows:

Commissioner McClanahan moved that the returns of the election held on December
20, 1988 be accepted and the absentee ballots be approved as recorded. Seconded by
Commissioner Eckstein and carried by the vote of the Commission as follows:

Commissioner McClanahan moved to authorize payment in amount of $ 60.00 to
Inspectors and $ 70.00 to the Clerks, for work in the December 20, 1988 Run-off General
Election. Seconded by Commissioner Thomas and carried by the vote of the Commission as

The Chairman announced the Oath of Office and Organizational Meeting will be
held January 3, 1989 at 7:00 P. M.
