CiTY COMMISSION, SANFORD. FLORIDA. January 2 at 2:30 P M

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 2:30 o'clock P.M. January 2, 1946.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the
meeting was to organize the several departments for the ensuing year.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, and on motion duly adopted, the Commission~
authorized and directed that the Superintendent of Public Works supervise the departments
of Streets, Sewers & Bridges ( Including garbage collection and disposal) cemeteries,
parks, playgrounds, repair shop , zoo and engineering; and that under the Supt. of
Public Works, Supt. RiChard have direct supervision of the divisions of stre~ets, sewers,
street lighting and parks maintenance; Sanitary Officer Johnson have direct supervision ow
the division of garbage and trash collection and disposal, together with his other duties
as sanitary officer; Supt. Moughton have direct supervision of the maintenance of zoo
and baseball park; and that Inspector Duncan have complete supervision of buildings,
electrical, plumbing and milk inspection, and the rodent control project.
On motion duly carried, the Commission next authorized the working hours for
truck drivers, labor foremen and laborers be changed to an eight hour per day, forty-
four hours per week basis, instead of the nine hour per day , fifty hour per week
schedule now in effect.
On motion of Commissioner Lodge, seconded by Commissioner Gut and c arried, the
Commission next authorized an increase of 10~ in the salaries and ~ages of truck drivers,
labor foremen and laborers, effective next pay period.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
