022046 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA. Feb~L~'y~ 20.. at 2:00 P M 19 46 249 Attest: The City Commission of the City of Sanford , Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. February 20,1946. Present: Commissioner H.James Gut, Mayor. " Lea R. Lesher " Rob err A Williams City Manager & Clerk H.N.Sayer Absent: Commissioner George D. Bishop " W.C. Hill. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Mr R.T.Cowan next appeared and submitted an application for 30 days option $orl~a~- chase approximately 100 lots in Magnolia Heights at a price of $20.00 each, for the pur- pose of constructln4~ fifty dwellings for veterans of World War II, agreeing to install the necessary sanitary sewer facilities to service the proposed dwelllo4~s, said sanitary sewers to be constructed by him in accordance with plans and specifications to be fur- nished by the City. Also requested an option to purchase additional lots in Magnolia Heights at same price for constructing additional dwellings, as needed. Matter taken under advisement. Mr. Edward Higgins , Manager of Seminole Chamber of Commerce, next appeared and advised the Commission that the City should send a representative to Washington to present the brief on deepening of 12 foot channel in Bt. Johns River to the Rivers & Harbors Committee. Action deferred. On motion of Commissioner Williams, seconded by Commissioner Lesher and carried, the Commission next authorized an expenditure for ~nstalling a new roof on grandstand building at Municipal Ball Park by F.M. English at cost of $356.00. Commissioner Lesher next moved that the H.James Gut A4~ency be authorized to furnish the necessary fire insurance coverage on the U.S.O.Bulldlng as required by the Federal Works Agency. Seconded by Commissioner Williams and carried. On motion of Commissioner Lesher , seconded by Commissioner Williams and carried, the Commission next authorized payment of fee of Court RePorter for taking testimony in the case of J.H. Truluch, plaintiff , Vs Ernest M. Lee, defendant, in Seminole County Court. ~.- There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
