062-SAA Police Vehicle/K9 (2)s 0 off iLent Sgretment This lease agreement is between the Sanford Airport Authority, a dependent special district and the City of Sanford, Florida. 1. Purpose: For and in consideration of $1.00 annually the Sanford Airport Authority leases to the City of Sanford, Florida one (1) Ford Crown Victoria (VINI aFA 7iW t3 ?59b police vehicle with canine package and one (1) canine (rAa5 ) for the purposes of police patrol and explosive detection. 3. Obligations of the City of Sanford a. Shall assign a full time law enforcement officer to the K -9 team. b. Shall obtain and maintain appropriate insurance (self insurance is acceptable) to cover both the vehicle and canine. C. Shall indemnify and save harmless the Sanford Airport Authority from any damages recovered by anyone for the personal injury or property damage sustained or claimed to have been sustained. The City shall pay all expenses in defending against any such claim made against the Sanford Airport Authority or any of the person's board members or employees of the authority relating to the canine or vehicle. d. Shall maintain a kennel for the canine's rest and or domicile. e. Shall provide food, health and medical care for the canine. f. Shall establish operational guidelines that are mutually agreeable for use of the team between the City and the Airport. Priority use will be vested with the airport and specifically the passenger terminal, 2. Term of Lease• This lease shall commence when the vehicle has been delivered and the canine team (dog and officer) has been completely trained to the satisfaction of both 2 parties. It shall be made a part of the annual agreement between the City of Sanford and the Sanford Airport Authority for police services and terminate at the end of each fiscal year. This lease is renewable by mutual consent of the two parties for one -year periods. With thirty (30) days written notice either party may terminate the contract. 3. Maintain the airport vehicle in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, including fuel, oil and periodic servicing. 4. Obligations of the Sanford Airport Authority: a. Shall acquire a suitable police vehicle with canine package. b. Shall acquire and train a suitable (dog) canine team member. C.
