Offer to Sell to the City of Sanford a 65 Acre Industrial Property, Stan Sandefur, Trustee,
owner.
City Manager reported that this property has been identified as a major element in
the stormwater drainage improvement project. Further, there are other ways of solving the
problem, however, engineering studies indicate that a part of this parcel would have
particular value to the City. Further, in 1968 Conklin, Porter & Holmes did a study of all
drainage basins within the City, that they did not indicate, at that time, any on-line or
off-line detention/retention, and that this particular concept and need has evolved within
the past two or three years. Also, it would be difficult to find other sites which would
provide the flow retention/detention which is required. City Manager requested authorization
to advertise for an MAI appraisal, by a well qualified, credentialed, individual.
