Discussion regarding Joint Seminole County School Board-County Con.uission Complex in Downtown
Sanford.
Mayor Smith called the meeting to order.
Mike Thomas, Justice Planning Associates, and Charlie Reed, Hansen, Lind and Meyer
reviewed the results of the Seminole County Combined School Board/County Administration Study
dated December 13, 1993 (copy distributed), including the proposed joint complex site plan,
property cost assumptions and the advantages of a joint complex, such as shared operational
facilities, and the disadvantages/disadvantages of shared facilities. William Simmons, City
Manager, gave an update of the Mayor's and his meeting with Jeno Paulucci regarding the four
parcels of land, which are valued at $900,000.00. Also, New Tribes representatives are
interested in a possible exchange of some of New Tribes land for the Seminole County
Legislative Delegation building, and to sell some of their land if a land exchange is not
possible. Mayor Smith reported that the City will work with each entity separately and/or
jointly. Members of the Seminole County Commission and School Board decided to further
discuss this possible endeavor after the meeting concludes.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
