The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work Session on Monday, June 26, 2006, at 4 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida. Present: Mayor Linda Kuhn Vice Mayor Velma Williams Commissioner Art Woodruff Commissioner Randy Jones Commissioner Jack T. Bridges City Manager Robert (Sherman) Yehl City Clerk Janet R. Dougherty Absent: City Attorney William L. Colbert Mayor Kuhn called the Work Session to order at 4:08 PM. 1) Presentation re: draft Classification and Compensation Study Report. [Commission Memo 06-327] Lori Barefoot, HR Management Partners, Inc., presented an overview of the Report. 2) Discussion re: Sanford Neighborhood Action Partnership. (Regular Item No.9. F.) [Commission Memo 06-335] City Manager Yehl reviewed the concept of a pilot program to create a Sanford Neighborhood Action Partnership (SNAP). 3) Discussion re: Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida Funding Request. [Commission Memo 06-315] The Commission discussed the need for a policy regarding requests for funding. City Manager Yehl said that this request for funding will be deferred, and that he will look closer at Seminole County's policy regarding requests for funding to determine whether to incorporate its process in a City policy. 4) Agenda Items - additional information and/or questions. Consent Agenda Item 6) B) - Commissioner Woodruff suggested that the surplus computers be donated to Gift from God Computer Foundation which will refurbish them and then give them back to be given to people who have completed computer classes. There was no objection by the Commission. Mayor Kuhn said that the Joint City/County Advisory Committee discussed consolidating fire and EMS services, and the County has agreed to pay for and put out an RFP for a study to look at consolidating those services. The Committee Chairman requested that each respective commission be asked for its consent for the County to proceed. There was no objection by the Commission. 5) End the meeting.
