ORDINANCE NO. 365
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 24 JF ORDINANCE NO. 349,
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 8th DAY OF MAY,
1944, SAID ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CIVIL
SERVICE SYSTEM FOR SAID OITY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Section 24 of Ordinan~e No. 349,
passed and adopted by the City comm.1ss1on of the City of
Sanford, Florida, on the 8th day of May, 1944, entitled, "An
Ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, Creating a Civil
Service System For Said City; Defining Who Shall be Embraoed
in Said Civil Servioe System; Providing for the Establishment
of a Civil Serv10e Board; Prescribing the Q"uali:f1cations of the
Members of Said 01vil Service Board and Designating oauses and
Method for Their Removal; Frescribing the Powers and ~uties of
said Civil Service Board; Prescribing the Manner in Which Per-
sons Engaged by the City may be Employed, Promoted, Demoted or
D1soharged; Defining the Rights, Privileges, Duties and Obliga-
tions of Members of said 01vil Service and Authorizing the City
Commission to Fix their Compensation; Providing a Procedure
for the Trial of Appeals by the Members of the Civil Serv10e
to the Civil Service Board", be and the same is hereby amended
so as to read as follows:
Seot1on 24. CITY COMMISSION rro FIX COMPENSATION.
'Fhe City Commission of the City of Sanford shall fix the
pay of all members of the Civil Serv10e established by
this Ordinance; provided, that members of the same grade
in the same department shall reoeive the same pay and
members of a higher grade shall not be paid less than
the members of the next lower grade.
Section 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall become effective
