Dear Henry:
Enclosed please find a copy of the Agreement for EDP
Service between the cities of Sanford and Lakeland
which was approved by our City Commission at the meeting
of January 21, 1974 which has been executed by our Mayor,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
As you already are aware, there is a considerable amount
of work that must be done by personnel in both our
cities before the budgetary accounting application can
be implemented and we only have about three months to
get the ball rolling before we will be in budgets, etc.
My schedule is open at the moment with only a luncheon
on January 31st and an all day meeting on February 7th
noted on my calendar at this point. I would hope that
we could have at least three or four half day sessions
with you by February 15th if at all possible. Please
let me know when you would like to begin meeting.

A G R E E MEN T
This AGREEMENT, made and entered into this

January
A. D. 1974, to be retroactively effective as of
November 14, 1973 by and between the CITY OF LAKELAND, FLORIDA, a
municipal cp;r:-po.ra_~iop. existing under"the l?Y1s of the State of Florida,
hereinafter referred to as Lake1and, and the CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
a municipal corporation existing under the laws of the State of Florida,
hereinafter referred to as Sanford;
WIT N E SSE T H :
THAT, WHEREAS, Lake1and operates a Burroughs Model B3501
Computer System under that agreement between the City of Lake1and and
the Burroughs Corporation dated March 18, 1970; and
WHEREAS, Sanford desires that Lake1and utilize such computer
system to process the payroll and budgetary accounting applications for
Sanford;
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the payment of the
sums herein provided and the mutual covenants and considerations herein
contained, the parties herein have agreed as follows:
1. Lake1and shall process the data received from Sanford
concerning payroll and budgetary accounting at such times as shall be
mutually agreed upon.
2. Sanford shall pay to Lake1and the following:
a. For computer processing services:
(1) for the payroll application -$250.00 per month
(2) for the budgetary accounting application - $400.00
per month
b. FOJ:::_use of; budgetary accoun1;:.tng programs and for assistance
from City of Lakeland personnel to convert and implement
the budgetary accounting application programs on the
computer: The sum of $200.00 per month for 20 months
or until the sum of $4,000.00 is received by Lake1and,
3. Payment for the processing of the payroll and budgetary
accounting applications data shall be made by the 30th day of each month
for the preceding month's services performed.

4. Lakeland shall furnish all forms required for the
payroll and budgetary accounting applications with the exception "of
payroll checks, W-2 forms, and budgetary voucher checks and/or any
other special forms that may be required by Sanford.
5. This agreement shall extend for a period of five (5)
years from the date hereof, provided, however, that after the first year
of this agreement, this agreement may be terminated at any time by either
of the parties h~reto by giving to the other party ninety (90) days'
notice of its intention to 30 terminate, or such other period of time
reasonable necessary for sanford to make other arrangements.
