PM Minutes Mr. Kinney moved to approve the January 16, 2013 meeting minutes. Mr. Yebba seconded. Motion carried 5- 0. Public Meetings PM-1 Hold a Public Meeting to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a 1½ story detached garage at 401 S. Palmetto Avenue. Tax Parcel Number: 25-19-30-5AG-0601-009A Property Owner: Howard & Robin Marks Representative: Harry Barrett Mr. Kinney moved to approve the request to construct a detached 1 ½ story garage at 401 S. Palmetto Avenue based on a finding that proposed alterations are consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S and complies with the specific design guidelines contained within Schedule S, as outlined in the staff report with the condition the ribbon driveways on drawing will be reconfigured to align with the existing single curb cut. Mr. Chusmir seconded. Motion carried 5-0. PM-2 Hold a Public Meeting to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness to replace railing and balustrade on gazebo in Centennial Park located at 400 Park Avenue. Tax Parcel Number: 25-19-30-5AG-0604-0000 Property Owner: City of Sanford Representative: Marc Hultin, Parks and Grounds Manager – City of Sanford Mr. Chusmir moved to approve the request to replace the railing and balustrade on the gazebo in Centennial Park at 400 S. Park Avenue based on a finding that proposed alteration is consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S and will not adversely impact the surrounding historic district, as outlined in the above staff report with the condition the applicant use the vertical railing as shown on bottom of picture submitted. Mr. Yebba seconded. Motion carried 5-0. Minutes – February 20, 2013 Historic Preservation Board Page 2 Minor Reviews Review of Certificate of Appropriateness approvals issued administratively from January 2, 2013 through January 31, 2013. Ms. Deming stated the garage on Palmetto Avenue does not appear to have been built according to what the board approved. Ms. Dalton stated she would check with the building department. Mr. Kinney moved to approve the minor reviews. Mr. Chusmir seconded. Motion carried 5-0. 6 Month Reviews None. Citizen Participation None. Staff Reports Ms. Dalton informed the board she is applying for a statewide preservation award and needs five letters of support (Chairman signed one from the board) to accompany the application. Ms. Dalton reported the Wayfinding retrofit will be installed within the next three weeks as well as the kiosk. th Ms. Dalton informed the board there will be a lecture by Dr. Richard Guy Wilson at Rollins College on March 13. thth Ms. Dalton informed the board there will be a preservation training held on April 10 and 11, which is the hands- on workshop she received a grant for. Chairman and Board Items for Discussion Ms. Deming asked staff if Mr. Hudson responded to the letter that was sent to him regarding the PICO building. Ms. Dalton reported he has not, but the violation is moving forward through code enforcement. th Mr. Dieckhaus reported the trailer at 9 & Oak has not been moved and is still there. Ms. Dalton stated she would notify code enforcement. Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:56 . PM
