Mr. Coover called the meeting to order at 6: 13 PM.
Approval of Minutes of April 25, 2007
Mr. Stewart moved to approve the Minutes as revised to reflect Mr.
Garrett presence. Seconded by Mr. Davis and carried by a vote of the
Committee as follows:

Discussion regarding the Charter
Mr. Cover distributed copies of a proposed amendment of Charter Section
8.01 as drafted by Mr. Mcintosh.
The CRC established a topical list of areas of concern including but
not limited to the following:
Charter Section 4.01, General Provisions (City Attorney to provide
current practice information)
Charter Section 6.07, City Commission Districts (City Attorney to
provide options about giving recommendations)
Charter Section 8.01, Charter Amendment (City Attorney to provide
information)
Acting MayorNice Mayor
Term limits
Ethics
Commission pay and timing thereof
Election dates
Areas in election (law or portion of charter)
Moral turpitude as an avenue for exit (definition)
Petition requirements
Charter officers
Succession of the chain of command

Mayor Kuhn and the City Commissioners added Charter Section
2.06(b), Forfeiture of Office and Section 3.02, Removal of City Manager, to
the Committee's areas of concern.
Vice Mayor Dr. Velma H. Williams distributed a document to the CRC
with areas of particular concern to her, and added city polling places being
the same as county polling places, and noticing the public where and when
copies of the Master Plan and Comp Plan are available.
Establish meetings
The Committee concurred to hold the first public hearing on
Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 7PM in the City Commission Chambers.
The committee agreed to hold its next meeting on Thursday, May 31,
2007 and the following meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, of June and
July, with the last meeting on Thursday, August 9,2007. All meetings are
to be held at 6PM.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 7:49 PM.
