110804 ws/rm min.EPNIII072 MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida WORK SESSION NOVEMBER The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work Session on Monday, Novmnher 8, 2004, at 4:00 P.M., in the City Manager's Conference Room, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida. Dougherty City Attorney William L. Colbert Mayor Lessard called the meeting to order at 4:11 P. M. (1) Police and Fire Pension Pinna Presemation. (Foster and Foster Actuarial Firm representatives) Patrick Dordan, MAAA, Foster & Foster, Inc., provided a handout entitled "City of Sanford Fireftghters' Retirement System Highlights fi.om the October 1, 2003 Actuarial Valuation", discussed it, and answered questions. The Coat,fission requested contribution history, both by the city and the employees, for thc past ten to fifteen years, and an analysis/ comparison of Sanford's pension benefits with other cities, especially in this area. [Mayor Lessard gave the Chair to Vice Mayor Dr. Williams and left the meeting, and returned and reclaimed the Chair during discussion.] (2) Boards and Committees. (City Manager A1 Grieshaher Jr.) City Manager Grlesheher reviewed the "City Boards" proposals and answered questions. After discussion, the Co,xuiiission concurred that the City Manager continue work to combine/delete boards, to request input fi.om the boards, and consider having all board members' terms expire during the same month, so that all appointments and re-appointments due to term expirations are made once yearly.
