121896 sm300 E405354 MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida Special Meeting December 18 1996 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Special Meeting Wednesday, December 18, 1996 at 12:00 o'clock P.M. in the City Commission Room, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida. Present: Mayor-Commissioner Bettye D. Smith Commissioner Whitey Eckstein Commissioner Kerry D. Lyons City Attorney William L. Colbert City Manager William A. Simmons City Clerk Janet R. Dougherty Absent: Commissioner Robert B. Thomas, Jr. Commissioner Lon K. Howell The Chairman called the meeting to order. Review, accept and ratify the returns of the December 17e 1996, Run-off Election. After the Commission reviewed the Statement of Votes Cast for the December 17, 1996, Run-off Election, as follows: 'Sanford Runoff STATEMENT OF VOTES CAST SANFORD P.~OFF SEMINOLE COU.N~fY, FLORIDA SANDFORD RUN-OFF, DECEMBER 16, 1996 CITY OF SANFORD SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA RACE MAYOR (Vote for One) CITY COMMISSIONER DIST CITY OF SANFORD T/O SANFORD DISTRICT 1 SANFORD DISTRICT 3 SANFORD DISTRICT 4 SANFORD DISTRICT 2 Sanford Run-Off 4771 1324 27.75 4302 790 18.36 4485 553 12.33 3967 748 18.86 0 287 - TOTAL 17525 3702 21.12 LARRY DALE BOB THOMAS TOTAL 813 624 470 133 109 2149 TOTAL 508 166 83 615 171 1543 TOTAL 876 72 1 (Vote for One) BRADY WALT LESSARD PADGETT TOTAL 347 34 381 Comissioner Eckstein moved to accept and ratify the returns of the December 17, 1996, Run-off Election as submitted by the Canvassing Board; to declare Larry Dale the winner in the Mayoral race, and to declare Brady Lessard the winner in District 1. Seconded by Commissioner Lyons and carried by the vote of the Commission as follows: Mayor smith Aye Commissioner Eckstein Aye Commissioner Lyons Aye Payment to the poll workers of the December'i'17, 1996, Run-Off Election. Commissioner Eckstein moved to authorize payment to the poll workers in amount of $90.00 to the Inspectors and Deputies, and $110.Q0 to the Clerks. Lyons and carried by the vote of the Commission as follows: Mayor Smith Aye Commissioner Eckstein A~e Commissioner Lyons Aye Seconded by Commissioner Request for emergency water service. The City Manager reported receipt of a request for emergency water service on Sanford Avenue, and hearing no objection he will direct Staff to move forward with emergency water service, and submit the Petition for Annexation for formal approval at the December 23, 1996, Regular Meeting, and the Commission had no objection.
