The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Flori~ met in Strategic Planning Workshop on Tuesday, June 5,
2007, at 4 PM, in the Vigilante Room, Orlando-Sanford International Airport, 1200 Red Cleveland Boulevard, Sanford. Florida.

Marilyn Crotty, facilitator, Florida Institute of Government at the University of Central Flori~ gave opening
remarks regarding today's agenda.
1. Presentation by Government Services Group, Inc., regarding the creation of a Fire District
Slade Dukes, Esquire, Senior Project Manager, Government Services Group, Inc., distributed and presented a
power point presentation regarding Fire Special Assessments. [Vice Mayor Williams and Commissioner Jones joined the
meeting during the presentation.]
2. Overview of 2008 Budget and Implications of Property Tax "Reform""
City Manager Yehl distributed and presented a power point presentation regarding 2008 Funding Overview, and
General Government Reduction Examples.
[The meeting was recessed at 5:21 PM and reconvened at 5:43 PM.]

City Manager Yehl distributed and di~ussed a letter from the Florida Legislature dated Iune 1, 2007, reg ....
property tax relief and reform.
The Commission concurred that all departments are equally important, the current number of police officen
should not be cut, raam commitment to Re~ue 38, protect capital replacement fund, the history of departments should be
analyzed to determine whether to cut rather than cut a determined percentage per department, and to consider not funding non
profits.
