Colbert Mayor Kuhn called the Work Session to order at 4:05 PM. 1) Interview applieants for the Sanford Musemn Board (two vacancies): Linda Silsby Hitt and Stephen Caldwell Wright, Ph.D. (Commission Memo 07-192] (RM-9.A.] Dr. Wright distributed a copy of his resume and was interviewed by the Commission. 2) Tajiri Arts, Incorporated: presentation regarding Partnership Development between the City of Sanford and Tajiri Arts, Inc., and Budget Solutions. Patricia Whatley, Founder, Tajiri Arts, Inc., distributed an envelope of infonnation and gave a power point presentation. 3) Bnnvnfields Redevelopment Program: presentation. (Commission Memo 07-193] John Metsopoulos, US 17-92 CRA Coordinator, reported that the Brownfields Redevelopment Program is operated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection with the purpose of creating financial and regulatory incentives to encourage voluntary cleanup and redevelopment of Brownfield sites. It includes significant loan guarantees, relief from liability, sales tax refunds and cash jobs incentives for approved sites within the area. The 17-92 CRA is proposing to designate its entire area as a Brownfields Redevelopment Area. This could have the potential of offering significant benefits to potential sites located in the City of Sanford. George Houston, Department of Environmental Protection, Brownfields Cootdinator Waste Cleanup, distributed handouts and gave a powerpoint presentation. There was a consensus of the Commission that the Program is a good idea. 4) New Hwy 17-92 ramp onto 1-4: presentation. Derek Hudson, 1-4 District 5 Public Infonnation Manager, distributed a handout and gave a powerpoint presentation regarding improvements to 1-4. 5) Subsidy PIaB for Recreation Programs and Facilities. (Commission Memo 07-196] The Commi~ion requested that Stafflook at resident versus non-resident fees for the civic center and the cultural arts building as well as minimum usage fees for both facilities. A chart showing what the City of Sanford charges for activities as compared to other cities was also requested. 6) City HaD Parking update. [Commission Memo 07-199] City Manager Yehl reported that City Hall meets the current parking code requirements. There was a consensus of the Commission to remove Consent Agenda Item D, Proposal with Ron Sachs Communications to develop and implement a V oter Awareness Program for the proposed Public Safety Complex bond referendum. There was a consensus of the Commission to increase the allotted time limit to five minutes for a speaker to present. City Clerk Janet Dougherty distributed the agenda for the Joint CRA Meeting and Budget Work Session scheduled for Monday, July 30,2007. Commissioner Woodruff distributed a July 2007 Georgetown Neighborhood News regarding Georgetown's National Night Out Event scheduled for August 7, 2007. 8) Attorney-client Session: Announce the commencement and estimated length of the attorney-client session and the names of the persons attending. 9) CLOSE the public meeting.
