ORDINANCE NO. 1420
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 8-3 OF
CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA, THE SAME BEING KNOWN
AS THE ELECTRICAL CODE, SAID AMENDMENT
ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
OF 1978 AS PREPARED BY THE NATIONAL
FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION, AS AMENDED
BY CENTRAL FLORIDA ADVISORY CODE
COMMITTEE NOTICE F, AND FURTHER AMENDED
TO PROHIBIT THE INSTALLATION OF ALUMINUM
CONDUCTORS IN ANY STRUCTURES WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF NO. 6 AWG AND LARGER CONDUCT-
ORS FOR CIRCUITS WHICH ORIGINATE FROM A
PANEL AND TERMINATE AT A SINGLE DEVICE;
PROVISION FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 8-3 of Chapter 8 of the
Sanford City code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 3-8. NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE ADOPTED:
The National Electrical Code of 1978 as prepared by
the National Fire Protection Association, as amended by Central
Florida Advisory Code Committee Notice F, and further amended as
follows:
"Aluminum conductors shall not be installed and used
in any residential, commercial or other structures hereafter altered,
built, constructed, erected, repaired or moved into the City of
Sanford, Florida, with the exception of No. 6 AWG and larger
conductors for circuits which originate from a panel and terminate
at a single device".
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
