ORDINANCE NO. 1422
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 6, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, THE SAME BEING KNOWN AS
THE BUILDING CODE, SAID AMENDMENT DELETING
SECTION 6-5 THEREOF, RELATIVE TO THE REQUIRE-
}lliNT THAT BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTED IN THE CITY
OF SANFORD HAVE SPRINKLER EQUIPMENT AND SMOKE
DETECTION DEVISES ON ALL FLOORS ABOVE 45 FEET
FROM GROUND LEVEL; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, that the adoption
of the 1977 revision to 1976 edition of the Standard Building Code,
as amended, makes provisions to require installation of approved
sprinkler equipment and smoke detection devises meeting the
requirements of the Standard Building Code on all floors of build-
ings above 45 feet from ground level, and therefore, Section 6-5 of
Chapter 6 of the Building Code of the City of Sanford should be
abolished since it is in conflict with the Standard Building Code,
as amended.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 6-5 of Chapter 6 of the Sanford
City Code, the same being known as the "Building Code" be and the
same is hereby deleted from the City Code.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
