ORDINANCE NO. 1423
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 22-16 OF
CHAPTER 22 OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE,
SAID CHAPTER BEING ENTITLED "SIGNS
AND ADVERTISING"; SAID AMENDMENT
AMENDING THAT CERTAIN SECTION RELATIVE
TO GROUND SIGNS TO PROVIDE FOR SETBACK
REQUIREMENTS FROM PUBLIC AND PRIVATE
PROPERTY LINES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Subparagraphs (1) and (2) of Sub-
section (j), Section 22-16 of Chapter 22 of the Sanford City code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 22-16. General Provisions
(j) Ground Signs: Ground signs shall be permitted,
used or erected only upon compliance with the following requirements:
(1) Public Private Lines - In all zoning districts
all ground signs erected with the lower edge of the face less than
nine (9) feet above the average ground level shall be setback from
public property lines a distance of nine (9) feet. Ground signs
with the lower edge of the face nine (9) feet, or higher, above
the average ground level may be erected with zero (0) feet setback
from public property lines.
(2) Private Property Lines - In all zoning districts
ground signs shall be setback a minimum of five (5) feet from
adjacent private property lines.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
