Please be advised that two (2) or more members of the City Commission of the City of
Sanford may be attending this meeting and that subjects and matters involving the
City of Sanford may be discussed.
The City of Sanford Noise Ordinance Task Force met in the Railroad Depot Room,
Second Floor, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida, at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 9,
2008.

Mr. Radzak called the meeting to order at 2:04 PM.
1) Approval of 5.2.08 meeting minutes.
Mr. Troutman made a motion to approve the May 2, 2008 minutes as presented, seconded
by Mr. Then. The motion passed unanimously.
2) Loudspeaker and amplifier use discussion.
Mr. Troutman made a motion to allow up to 100 dB 50 feet from the source between the
hours of 6 PM and lOPM Sunday through Thursday, and until 12 AM Friday and Saturday
for outdoor live entertainment in the proposed "entertainment district". The motion was
seconded by Mr. Then. The motion passed unanimously.
3) Summary of Recommendations discussion.
The task force agreed to continue as a working document, and add outdoor speakers to be
governed under "entertainment district" provisions.
4) Agenda items - additional items and/or questions.

Mr. Troutman made a motion to have the City Attorney's Office, noise ordinance task
force members, and appropriate city staff thoroughly review the City of Des Moines,
Iowa noise ordinance as a model for the City of Sanford. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Hollerbach. The motion passed unanimously.
The task force agreed to discuss two agenda items for the May 16, 2008 at 3 PM
meeting: 1) Des Moines ordinance review 2) summary of recommendations
6) End the meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:05 PM.
