The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by the Chairman,
Ernest Cowley. Mr. Howard Whelchel was extended a welcome to the
Committee by the Chairman, and introduced to the other members.
The first item for discussion was a review of the Attorney resumes
received and a brief opinion from each member. Mr. Quigley said
that all contacts were made through the Florida Bar Association,
and there were nine who expressed interest and sent resumes for
consideration. It was decided to select three of the nine for a
personal interview through a process of elimination.
The following names were removed from the list for consideration:
Thomas Garwood, on a motion by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Hunt and
carried.
Ned Julian, on a motion by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Hunt and carried.
Mr. Cowley abstained from voting.
Harvey Alper, on a motion by Mr. White, seclonded by Mr. Rosenthal,
and carried.
John Bowen, on a motion by Mr. Rosenthal, seconded by Mr. White and
carried, over one negative vote.
Charles Fawcett, on a motion by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Hunt and
carried.
James Wharton, on a motion by Mr. Rosenthal, seconded by Mr. White
and carried.
The following were retained for consideration through personal inter-
view:
Thomas Lang, on a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by Mr. Rosenthal and
carried.
James Brown, on a motion by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Rosenthal and
carried.

Frank Kruppenbacher, on a motion by Mr. White, seconded by
Mr. Rosenthal and carried.
Mr. Hunt moved that the Chairman contact the three on Wednesday
morning, Feb. 28, 1979, and invite them to a personal interview
and ask them to come prepared to discuss a fee schedule to include
a retainer for attending regular meetings, and for additional work
such as hearings, etc. Mr. White seconded. Motion carried.
Discussion followed on schedule for interview and items to be covered.
The Secretary was instructed to make up an agenda for Tuesday, March
6, 1979, post it and mail a copy to the papers for notification. It
was agreed to set the meeting time at 7:15 in order to start the first
interview at 7:30 P.M.
Mr. White moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.
Mr. Rosenthal seconded. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned on a motion
by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Hunt.
