The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by the Chairman, Ernest Cowley.
Mr. White moved to approve the Minutes of the March llth meeting. Mr. Whelchel
seconded. Motion carried.
The item for discussion was Senate Bill #83, designed to abolish Local Option
PERCS. Copies of the bill were distributed and studied by the members for
discussion. It was the general feeling of the members that Local Option Peres
could better serve local needs, and would like it to stand as it is.
Mr. White moved that the Chairman instruct the Attorney to draw up a resolution
to support the present law as it now stands and he be instructed to distribute
it to the City Commission, local State Legislative delegation, Speaker of the
House, President of the Senate and members of the committee on Personnel Retire-
ment& Collective Bargaining. Mr. Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
