The Minutes from the last meeting of Oct. 9, 1980 were read and filed.
The meeting of the members of the Local Option PERC was requested by the
Assistant City Manager for the purpose of discussion of the reappointment of
members Garnett White and Howard Whelchel and the vacancies that need to be
filled in order to comply with the Ordinance, which stipulates five (5)
members.
According to the original appointment, the membership term of Tom Hunt expired
Jan. 1982 and since that time Mr. Hunt has been transferred from the area and
is not available to serve on the Commission. The memberships of Mr. White and
Mr. Whelchel expired in Jan., 1983. Mr. White and Mr. Whelchel agreed to con-
tinue service on the Commission if reappointed.
If Mr. White and Mr. Whelchel are reappointed it was determined that there are
still three vacancies on the Commission at this time and the following names
were suggested as possible appointments:
William P. Layer; Bruce Berger; Manley Rusho; Russ Kitner; Larry Strickler;
Al Mc Millen; Dick Mamele and Steve Coover.
Mr. Harriett asked the representative from Richeson & Brown to review the
overall status of the Local PERC to ensure it's compliance with the State
PERC Rules & Regulations. Attorney Jim Brown is to contact Mr. Harriett for
specifics.
Mr. Harriett said he would review the ordinance requirements as to board
appointments and submit the suggested names to the City Manager for consideration
and would notify the members of another meeting when a full board has been es-
tablished.
