SIB mins 1987 Workshop MINUTES
• SCENIC IMPROVEMENT BOARD
The workshop meeting of the Scenic Improvement Board was held
on Wednesday, September 9, 1987. The meeting opened in City
Commission Conference Room, 5:30 p.m.
Ann Brisson presented a concept drawing by Ray Prist to make
change in flower beds on Lakefront. Eliza Pringle made motion
to acc pt plans as presented with any necessary corrections
to beg' immediately, including the Log Cabin. Seconded by
Judy Wi bish. Motion carried.
Indian Hawthorne died in front of City Hall. It is not Fire-
blight. Celeste Whyte said to get her root samples and she
will send it off and get the results back.
Drake Elms 3" (three) caliper tree for Downtown Streetscape.
Motion made by Kit Carson, that the City should go ahead with
3" (three) or 4" (four) caliper Drake Elm for W. 1st Street
Streetscape. Seconded by Eliza Pringle. Motion carried.
For the City Commission agenda about the 8th Street & Park Avenue
Park - to get the City to ask the Church to send representative
to express their desire of the park - at the meeting.
Beth Wielak, okay to plant tree for Girl Scouts in Centennial
Park. Need to get in touch with Bill Horn.
Ann Brisson called Mr. Irvin Kauffman to get his imput on Log
Cabin.
Bill Horn said Mr. Faison stated SIB Budget would be used and
we would not lose money.
