SIB mins 1988 Workshop SCENIC IMPROVEMENT BOARD
MINUTES
The special workshop meeting of the Scenic Improvement Board
was held January 26, 1988, 5:30 p.m., in the City Commission
Conference Room, First Floor.
In attendance, Martha Yancey, Judy Wimbish, Ann Brisson,
Ray Priest, Kit Carson.
The special workshop meeting was held for the approval of
the concept of the Municipal Parking Lot.
The concept was shown to all the members. Discussion as
1 follows: The parking spaces equal 296. The parking spaces
size will be 9' x 18', with a 27' aisle width. This is
• based upon a traffic study done through Engineering with
the City. The landscaping of the project, approximately
$28,500.00. The motion for approval of the concept would
include the layout of irrigation, sidewalks, entrances,
exits of parking lot.
Ray Priest has reservations of approving the concept. The
entrance /exit on Palmetto Avenue side, a planter being placed
at the entrance /exit. He feels that it would be very hazard-
ous traffic problem. Concerned on who's responsibility
it would be, if an accident does occur.
The motion was first carried with Kit Carson, seconded by
Judy Wimbish.
Discussion followed: four members all voted yes, (Ann
Brisson with reservations of the traffic hazard), one
• against, Ray Priest. Approved by majority vote.
The concept will be presented by Kit Carson, Maureen Quinn
before the workshop of the City Commission, February 1,
1988.
