SIB mins 1989 Spec Mtgs SCENIC IMPROVEMENT BOARD • MINUTES The Scenic Improvement Board met in a special meeting, January 25, 1989, Public Works Conference Room, 4:00 p.m. The following members present: Martha Yancey, Judy Wimbish, Bill Gielow, Juanny Mercer, Denny Hayes, Elizabeth Derr, Eliza Pringle. The following members not present: Irving Kaufman, Martha Crosier. Special Guests: Audrey Williams, Daryl McClain, Robbie Robertson, John Mercer. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Yancey. Mrs. Yancey explained that she has been approached by the Sanford Rotary Club, President Mr. Daryl McClain. At this time, the meeting was turned over to Mr. McClain. His proposition, representing the Sanford Rotary Club, is that they would like to match funds for the development of the Children's Park on Park, up to $25,000.00. They would also work with the Committee Chairpersons that have volunteered their time for the development of the playground. It will include active participation in raising contributions and the development. In return for their participation, they would like to able to place a plaque in the park, stating the contribution and participation from the Rotary Club. The proposition was approved with first motion from Mr. Denny Hayes, seconded by Judy Wimbish. All members approved. Judy Wimbish reported that they have received a confirmation from New York, Mr. Robert Leather's office, that the tentatively planned April 17 or 18 for Design Day.
