The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Flori~ met in Special Meeting on Friday, September 9,2005,
at 8:00 AM., in the City Manager's Conference Room, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.

Mayor Linda Kuhn
Vice Mayor Dr. Velma Williams
Commissioner Art Woodruff
Commissioner Randy Jones

Meeting called to order by Mayor Kuhn at 8:12 AM.

Interview City Manager Candidates.

The Commission interviewed Michael Stampfler (Portage, MI), Robert (Sherman) Yehl (The Woodlands,
TX), Richard White (Lexington, MA), and Barbara Lipscomb (Gainesville, FL).
Mayor Kuhn recessed the meeting at 11 :58 AM.
Mayor Kuhn reconvened the meeting at 12:36 P.M.
3) Discuss interviews and consider the selection ofa top candidate.
After discussion and rating, Commissioner Woodruff moved to make an offer of employment to Richard
White at $132,000, with a start date to be determined by himself and the Mayor. Seconded by Commissioner Jones. After
further discussion, the motion was carried by vote of the Commission as follows:

Mayor Kuhn recessed the meeting at 1:33 P.M. to telephone Mr. White.
4) Establish Offer of Employment.
Mayor Kuhn reconvened the meeting at 1 :43 P.M., and said that she contacted Mr. White as he was boardir g
the airplane and offered employment at $132,000. He said he was inclined to accept but didn't want to disenfranchise his
wife and that he would call her back this evening at 6:00 P.M. There was no time to discuss any of the other issues.
5) End the Meeting.
The Special Meeting was adjourned at 1:45 P.M.
