Myrtle Avenue. Magnolia Avenue. Tax Parcel Number: 25-19-30-5AG-1002-0060 Property Owner: Wayne & Cheryl Deming Representative: Wayne Deming Minor Reviews Review of Certificate of Appropriateness approvals issued administratively from April 1, 2013 through April 29, 2013. 6 Month Reviews Listed below is the status of projects reviewed by the board during the November 2012 meeting. The board must determine if the work is in compliance with the issued CofAs. 618 Palmetto Avenue Item: Applicant received approval to construct a two-story two car garage at 618 S. Palmetto Avenue with condition that professionally rendered architectural elevations be provided as part of the permit application and reviewed and approved by staff to verify compliance. Status: The garage has been completed in compliance with issued approvals and permits. (FS 286.0105) Page 1 of 1 Minutes Historic Preservation Board May 15, 2013 – 5:30 PM City Commission Chambers City Hall, Sanford, Florida Members Present Hank Dieckhaus Robert Kinney Mike Yebba Cheryl Deming Steve Chusmir Others Present Lonnie Groot, Assistant City Attorney Christine Dalton, Community Planner/Historic Preservation Officer Mary Muse, Administrative Coordinator Mr. Dieckhaus called the regular meeting to order at 5:30 . PM Minutes Mr. Kinney moved to approve the April 17, 2013 meeting minutes. Mr. Yebba seconded. Motion carried 5-0. Public Meetings PM-1 Hold a Public Meeting to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a handicap ramp and new door opening on the east elevation and a new entry door on the west elevation at 1119 S. Myrtle Avenue. Tax Parcel Number: 25-19-30-5AG-1305-0100 Property Owner: Marveen Kelly Representative: Marveen Kelly Mr. Kinney moved to approve the request to construct a handicap ramp and new door opening on the east elevation and a new entry door on the west elevation at 1119 S. Myrtle Avenue based on a finding that proposed alterations are consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S and complies with the specific design guidelines contained within Schedule S, as outlined in the staff report with the condition the existing ramp on the west elevation be removed upon the installation of the new ramp on east elevation and once the ramp is removed from the west elevation the new stairs and entry are in character with the building and the applicant is to submit photos and plans for the new entry doors and obtain approval. Mr. Yebba seconded. Mr. Kinney amended his motion to include the ramp must be removed from the property upon the sale of the house provided the buyer is a non-disabled person. Amended motion carried 5-0. PM-2 Hold a Public Meeting to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a 2,030 square foot, 2- story home and detached garage at 801 S. Magnolia Avenue. Tax Parcel Number: 25-19-30-5AG-1002-0060 Property Owner: Wayne & Cheryl Deming Representative: Wayne Deming Ms. Dalton informed those present Ms. Deming has recused herself and has submitted a memorandum of voting conflict form. Minutes – May 15, 2013 Historic Preservation Board Page 2 Mr. Yebba moved to approve the request to construct a 2,030 square foot, 2-story house and detached garage at 801 S. Magnolia Avenue based on a finding that alterations are consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S and complies with the specific design guidelines contained within Schedule S, as outlined in the staff report with the condition the applicant is to submit samples of the synthetic material for and reappear before board, if necessary. Mr. Kinney seconded. Motion carried 4-0 (Ms. Deming recused). Minor Reviews Review of Certificate of Appropriateness approvals issued administratively from April 1, 2013 through April 29, 2013. Mr. Kinney moved to approve. Mr. Yebba seconded. Motion carried 5-0. 6 Month Reviews Listed below is the status of projects reviewed by the board during the November 2012 meeting. Citizen Participation Wayne Deming asked if the garage doors could be steel. Ms. Dalton informed him only wood or fiberglass doors are allowed in the historic district. Staff Reports None. Chairman and Board Items for Discussion Mr. Chusmir asked if public input is required on the items being discussed, per the memo from Mayor Triplett. Ms. Dalton stated she would check and report back. Mr. Dieckhaus asked about the status on the PICO building. Ms. Dalton reported she sent the owner an email requesting him to contact her or she will be recommending a fine at the next Magistrate meeting. Mr. Dieckhaus stated he heard the owner found a company that can make a custom window using a computer to copy the old window. Ms. Dalton stated the windows have to be refurbished, not replaced. Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:34 . PM
