The board must determine if the work is in compliance with the issued CofAs. 314 Magnolia Avenue Item: Applicant received approval to replace a metal door with the condition a decorative molding be installed in order to be consistent with structures in the area. Status: An update will be provided on this item during the meeting. PM Minutes Mr. Kinney moved to approve the May 15, 2013 meeting minutes, with corrections (change Mr. Robert to Mr. Kinney). Mr. Yebba seconded. Motion carried 5-0. Public Meetings r PM-1 Hold a Public Meeting to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness toequest approval for new windows and doors at 719 S. Oak Avenue. Tax Parcel Number: 25-19-30-5AG-0904-0060 Property Owner: Mack Rentals LLC Representative: Kirt Huggins Mr. Yebba moved to approve the request for new windows and doors at 719 Oak Avenue based on a finding that alterations are consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S and complies with the specific design guidelines contained within Schedule S, as outlined in the staff report. Mr. Chusmir seconded. Motion carried 5-0. PM-2 Hold a Public Meeting to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness to request approval for construction of a detached garage at 101 E. 10th Street. Tax Parcel Number: 25-19-30-5AG-1203-0060 Property Owner: Wayne and Cheryl Deming Representative: Wayne Deming Ms. Dalton informed those present Ms. Deming has recused herself and has submitted a memorandum of voting conflict form. Mr. Kinney moved to approve the request to construct a 2-story detached garage with a 12 x 14 covered patio at 101 E. 10th Street based on a finding that alterations are consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S and complies with the specific design guidelines contained within Schedule S, as outlined in the staff report. Mr. Yebba seconded. Motion carried 4-0, Ms. Deming recused. Minor Reviews Review of Certificate of Appropriateness approvals issued administratively from May 1, 2013 through May 30, 2013. Minutes – June 19, 2013 Historic Preservation Board Page 2 Mr. Kinney moved to approve the minor reviews. Mr. Yebba seconded. Motion carried 5-0. 6 Month Reviews Listed below is the status of projects reviewed by the board during the November 2012 meeting. The board must determine if the work is in compliance with the issued CofAs. 314 Magnolia Avenue Item: Applicant received approval to replace a metal door with the condition a decorative molding be installed in order to be consistent with structures in the area. Status: Metal door has been installed, but the decorative molding/door trim has not been installed at this time. Mr. Kinney moved to approve. Mr. Chusmir seconded. Motion carried 5-0. Citizen Participation Staff Reports Ms. Dalton distributed a letter to the owner of the PICO building. A Development Order is to be agreed to and signed prior to July 8, 2013. Ms. Dalton reported after the removal of the existing handicap ramp at 1119 Myrtle Avenue the owner would like to keep the existing pad at the front door and add steps and a handrail. The drawings for the new ramp are under review and wanted the board to know she would be signing off on them with the new steps and handrail. Ms. Dalton requested approval from the board before releasing the permit. The board unanimously authorized Ms. Dalton to sign off on the permit. Chairman and Board Items for Discussion Mr. Chusmir asked Ms. Dalton if she received any information on the Mayor’s letter regarding public input. Ms. Dalton reported she did not, but will report back at next meeting. Mr. Kinney stated there is a need for a new organization to move forward with the advocacy of preservation because at the present time there isn’t anyone out there that can focus on it. There was further discussion on this issue. Mr. Dieckhaus stated the roof on the garage and house at 616 Palmetto appear to be leaking. Ms. Dalton stated she could present a demolition by neglect letter at the next meeting for the board to vote on. Mr. Dieckhaus stated there should be a statue of Henry Sanford in the downtown area. Ms. Dalton stated the board would have to review the location if someone submitted a request to install a statue. Mr. Dieckhaus asked how many rental homes are registered in the City and what the renewal procedure is. Ms. Dalton stated she would verify with Code Enforcement and report back. Mr. Dieckhaus reported it appears someone is living in the garage apartment at 305 Park Avenue. Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:40 . PM
