Mr. Bonaparte thanked the Commission for the salary adjustment and wished everyone a blessed holiday season. 12) CITIZEN PARTICIPATION. Thelma Mike said that for the past year Sanford has been under a very open eye of the world but through affliction we found out the strength that we have in the City and we have not proved to be what the outside world wanted us to be. We did not behave as the world thought we would although we were under attack. She thanked and commended the City Commission, City Attorney and City Staff. 13) CITY COMMISSIONER'S REPORTS. Commissioner Williams reminded everyone about the Senior Citizen Gala CITY COMMISSION MINUTES DECEMBER 9, 2013 REGULAR ME, STING scheduled for December 13 at 6:30 PM at the Boys and Girls Club, She asked representatives of the Police and Fire Departments to continue to provide visibility and protection so citizens can feel safe during the activity. She wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Commissioner Mahany said that although she wasn't able to attend the event, she heard that the City put on a fabulous tree lighting event and celebration downtown. The Candlelight Tour of Homes and the Woman's Club event were exciting and wonderful. She wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Vice Mayor Jones echoed previous comments and said that he is looking forward to the parade. He wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Commissioner M °Carty agreed with previous comments and said that Sanford continues to create memories that will be instilled in children's lives forever. They are really good investments, along with Sanford Avenue getting fixed up, the ribbon cutting for the boat slips, the RiverWalk construction, and store fronts being fixed up; maybe the economy will turn around in 2014. Through adversity we become stronger and shine even brighter. He wished everyone a Merry Christmas. Mayor Triplett thanked Staff for the time and effort given to the tree lighting event; he had requested that extra lights be placed on the tree and it looks wonderful. He received an email from Mr. and Mrs. Miller expressing thanks about the 18"' Street Park; it is cleaned up and looks good. He wished everyone a Merry Christmas.
