A Resolution of the City of Sanford, Florida providing for a change of
street name by changing the name of Lake Avenue to William Clark
Avenue; providing for William Clark Court to no longer be known as
William Clark Court and to revert to the address of Mulberry
Avenue providing for findings; providing for implementing
administrative actions; providing for a savings provision; providing
for conflicts; providing for severability and providing for effective
dates.
Whereas, under the authority contained in Sections 336.05(1) and 336.06(2),
Florida Statutes, and other controlling law the City of Sanford may name and rename
streets and roads; and
Whereas, the City Commission of the City of Sanford has deemed it appropriate
and expedient to rename a segment of Lake Avenue to William Clark Avenue; and
Whereas, the segment of Lake Avenue to be renamed (from 12 Street
southerly to 22nd Street) is located within the City of Sanford; and
Whereas, the existing street name of William Clark Court, also located within the
City, with structures being located thereon having been abandoned and pending
demolition, is in need to be known as Mulberry Avenue for emergency access and related
purposes; and
Whereas, the actions taken herein are generally consistent with overall City and
County plans for street renaming, naming, addressing and the E -919 system,
Now, therefore, be it adopted and resolved by the City Commission of the
City Of Sanford, Florida as follows:

Section 1. Findings.
The foregoing recitals (whereas clauses) are incorporated herein by reference
and adopted as legislative and administrative findings in support of the matters set forth
in this Resolution and made a part hereof.
Section 2. Change of street names.
(a). The segment of lake Avenue commencing at 12 Street and running
southerly to 22nd Street and terminating thereat, which segment is located within the City
Limits of the City of Sanford, and which segment is located within Section 36, Township
19, Range 30, Seminole County, Florida, is renamed to William Clark Avenue.
(b). The existing street name of William Clark Court, as located within the City of
Sanford, on which street structures have been abandoned and are currently pending
demolition, shall hereby no longer be known as William Clark Court, and shall henceforth
revert to the address of 1000 Mulberry Avenue with associated unit numbers in accordance
with the Seminole County requirements for addressing and E -911 services.
Section 3. Implementing administrative actions.
The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized and directed to implement
the provisions of this Resolution by means of such administrative actions as may be
deemed appropriate and to expend such City funds as may be necessary.
Section 4. Savings.
The prior actions of the City of Sanford relating to the naming and re- naming of
streets and related matters are hereby ratified and affirmed.
Section a. Conflicts.
All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are hereby
