Mr. Loader moved to approve the August 21, 2014 Meeting Minutes. Ms. Oyewale seconded. Motion carried 5 to 0.
Presentation
John Jones, Littlejohn Engineering Associates gave a PowerPoint presentation on the Sanford Downtown
Riverfront Design Study.

Mr. Gibson introduced Planning Department's newest employee, Senior Planner Jordan Smith.

Mr. Gibson reported the City Commission will receive presentations on the Sanford SunRail Station Area
Study Plan -Final Report and the Volusia County Transit Connector Study- Project Kickoff at their meeting on
September 22 as well as a briefing on the impacts SunRail has had on the surrounding communities. Mr.
Gibson stated he would email a copy of the report to each board member. In Sanford, the study shows an 18'
wall along the Preserve at Lake Monroe subdivision is necessary to help with the noise from the maintenance
facility. Also, a National Community Planning Month Proclamation will be presented.
Mr. Gibson reported there are no public hearings scheduled for the October 2 nd meeting, but anticipate holding
a meeting to consider a preliminary subdivision plan and discuss architectural guidelines.
Mr. Gibson distributed an invitation to attend the River of Lakes Heritage Corridor Board screening of There's
More to Florida video on October 8, 2014, an invite to the Wawa Grand Opening scheduled for September
26 and an updated schedule for SunRail.

There was a brief discussion on the Marina Isle project being considered at the City Commission meeting.
